simple when you know how, after a month mine still looks like watercress
I really enjoyed watching this video. Very good instructions and the video progressed a lot more smoothly than the vast majority of Youtube viideos
Ive tried growing lettuce indoors and outside and they grow so far then die..i used good compost..the one’s outside i think got too hot and died, the one’s indoors get thin, leggy, fall over and shrivel up and die..i even had them sitting in a window sill…they get tall but do not thicken up, they just dry up..what am i doing wrong?
was the lettuce in the video raised indoors or outside? Or did they grow in a green house or did u use a grow light?
Interesting video
I really liked the beginning but you didn’t say where you put the seeds, in light, in dark, covered, uncovered, indoors or outdoors? Warm environment or cold? Darn. . .I was really looking for those kinds of instructions.
That is great! If everyone would grow just a little bit a food…. indoors or out… the world would be a more sustainable and eco friendly place to inhabi…. I love your Irish accent to man!!t

The simplest, most concise indoor lettuce-growing video I’ve found yet….
They’re easy, but I apparently have too many growing in one planter. I’m gonna start over.
Thanks for this.
@Swammich
They apparently grow better in shaded areas, and in cooler temperatures (fall). I did too many in one planter, so I’m gonna rip mine up & start over (maybe even just use a few of the ones that have started in the base of the new planter since I have a mesclun variety).
Either way, your questions are important factors to consider because I’d certainly have thought they needed more sunlight & warmth –but noooooooo…..
Between indoor, outdoor, and rooftop gardening we can turn the corner in food shortages.
I just think of “big farming” for lack of better definition and the nutrion that is lost, the chemicals, the energy used to harvest on a large scale- the transportation, all the people that are handling it.. it a lot of time and money for something that goes bad within a week or two.
Growing your own food is multi advantageous.. especially if you can find the peace of mind in working with nature
can you re plant the ones you took out into new pots i done some about 3 weeks ago and there up. Is cabbage, broccali the same to can i re pot them. ive got about 50 tomatoes plants just need help potting some sweet peppers i tryed but they didnt come up
i live in london.
YOU ARE GREAT EVERYTHING WORKED!
@FLPman the biggest problem for most people i think is a lack of space. i live in central tokyo and there is basically just not enough space to grow food here. even if i covered the area beside my window with a rack for growing food plants it wouldn’t be enough. but for those who live out in areas with more space, definitely use it!
what about only taking so many leaves off each, then they will keep on growing.
I just keep them on the window in the kitchen. And pull off leaves as I need them, so it keeps growing.
ok. ótimo.
should be growin weed
@richiebowen good idea!!!!
wow you made it easy for me.
i never seen orange lettuce seeds, what kind are they?
When u cut them at the base, will they regrow?
